Que tal homie? This past Monday maed 5 years of self-employment and what a ride it’s been?! I’ve put out a lot of offers. Some did phenomenally well and some saw zero traction. Throughout it all, I’ve learned so much about myself and how my brain works. My favorite takeaway, though? Learning what I’m good at and what types of projects are not for me. I don’t have all of the answers yet (will I ever?), but what’s for sure is that all I do is for the sake of building community and that’s my special thing. No one brings people together like I do. Last month, I wrapped up a 4-week course called Show Your Work and the transformations were awe-inspiring. My favorite part though was that this group of 7 humans would have never come together if it weren’t for me having the audacity to put myself out into the world. And so while I don’t know what’s next per se, I do know that community is always my end game. My themes — culture, communications, and commerce — are how I facilitate community. The ingredients to my special sauce, if you will. 🥫 I hope you continue to audaciously show up, even when it’s messy. Even when you’re grieving. Even when you don’t quite know what to say, show up anyway. Future You is thriving because Present You chose to do the work.
